Before the platforms and the exits, there was the sky. Dirk started out in airline pilot training — a world where discipline, systems thinking, and staying calm under pressure are not optional. That foundation shaped everything that followed: an entrepreneur who treats risk with respect, plans for the edge cases, and trusts the instruments over the noise.
Over the next 35-plus years, that discipline turned into a career. Dirk built a major IT company from the ground up — engineering the platforms, closing the deals, and eventually leading it to a successful exit. He has shipped rapid MVPs wired with the latest AI, scaled B2B and B2C SaaS to real revenue, and learned, more than once, the difference between a business that looks good and a business that lasts.
